Common installation errors

Below are the possible errors that may occur during installation reported by users.

Error! Could Not Find a Joomla! XML setup file in this package
- You need to verify that the package name is correct.
- All jVideoDirect package ended with 1 set of ".zip" only. we have users reported that they have downloaded package with 2 set of ".zip" on Windows Vista machine.
- For example: Rename package.zip.zip to package.zip
- All jVideoDirect package ended with 1 set of ".zip" only. we have users reported that they have downloaded package with 2 set of ".zip" on Windows Vista machine.
- Goto Joomla backend -> Help -> Directory Permissions
- Make sure Temp Directory ($tmp_path) is writable.
- You may need to use Install from Directory method in Joomla Extensions Tool to install jVideoDirect.
Creating Storage Directory Structure - Failed
- The directory and it's sub-directories are created in the previous installation and permission are correctly set.
- Please ignore this failure.
- It is failed due to incorrect permission for joomla root.
- This is likely that JFTP is enabled but FTP credentials are not given.
- This process can be processed again during the operation in Check Up tool.
There was an error uploading this file to the server
- You should be using Microsoft Vista. A user had reported that when the component is download from our site using MS Vista machine, ".zip" has been appended as suffix. As a result there are two ".zip" in the filename. To solve this issue, simply edit the filename so that it only read one set of .zip or
- upload_max_filesize parameter in php.ini . Try change it to anything greater than 3M, then restart apache.
- You may need to use Install from Directory method in Joomla Extensions Tool to install jVideoDirect.
